Welcome!
Beginning in Fall 2022, I will be an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Trinity College. I earned my PhD in 2019 from the University of Georgia under the direction of Pete L. Clark and was a Teacher Scholar Postdoctoral Fellow at Wake Forest University from 2019-2022. My research interests are in algebraic number theory and arithmetic geometry. I am particularly interested in the arithmetic of curves with automorphisms, especially hyperelliptic curves.
In Spring 2021, I served as one of the lecturers for Arizona Winter Semester 2021: Virtual School in Number Theory. In Summer 2022, I served as a mentor at the Roots of Unity Workshop.
I can be reached at lori dot watson at trincoll dot edu.
